Can You See Me?

Can You See Me? weaves through the Sumerian myth of Inanna’s Descent, tracing cycles where falling turns to rising, shadow blends into light, and endings into new beginnings. It questions how these dualities shape the way we sense the world. From fragments of the documentary In Between, Sarah gathers slivers of memory—moments that shift, overlap, and reweave in life’s flow. Sarah draws inspiration from déjà vu, looping visuals and sounds that shift just enough to spark new textures yet remind us of something familiar. In MAX/MSP, a heartbeat drifts from clear to faint, a metaphor for how we shift between clarity and obscurity. The visuals, shaped in Premiere Pro, curve gently at the edges, drawing viewers into a dreamy haze where certainty blurs. At the heart, I stand, cloaked in black, a shadowed form that feels more like a question than a figure, hinting at anonymity over identity. This space of sound and image lingers in the unknown, challenging the rigid frames of today's world, opening a fleeting glimpse of what lies beyond the seen.
